YouTube Looks Back at 2013

2013 was a pretty big year for viral ads, videos and trends but YouTube has it covered. First, of course is the now-classic tradition of YouTube Rewind, the year’s biggest videos mashed up and performed by some of the most popular YouTubers of the year. It’s set to some of the year’s biggest viral songs, like The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?) by Ylvis, Gentleman by PSY and Harlem Shake by Baauer.

But if that’s just a little too frantic and not really informative enough for you, the site has put together a fascinating interactive compilation of the year’s biggest clips, organized and annotated by trend. Want to see just how much this summer was dominated by Miley Cyrus, twerking and associated parodies? YouTube has you covered. Of course it also recaps a few more interesting trends in the process.
