Visa Fans Olympic Flames

Is anyone else getting excited for the Olympics? We sure are, and the latest outpouring of sentimental ads from official sponsors isn’t helping.

Visa, in particular, has done wonders with its Go World 2012 campaign. It profiled nine Olympic athletes, telling their stories in their own voices. Then it came together with the final story, The Difference, itself a tale of the world coming together, holding our breath to wish for the success of our athletes. The Difference is narrated by Visa spokesperson Morgan Freeman.

The ad ends with the tagline “Join Our Global Cheer,” which is a bit more literal than it may sound. The ad’s YouTube page links viewers to Visa’s “Go World” Facebook app, where they can leave their own cheer to support their athletes. And the sentiment feels real: go world!
