T-Mobile Gets the Royal Wedding Views

The Royal Wedding was everywhere. It was nearly inescapable. And it’s all over YouTube, too, with every moment and all the highlights carefully documented on The Royal Channel, the official YouTube channel of the British Monarchy.

But aside from romantics and royalists, who wants to go back and watch the lengthy and formal wedding over and over? The videos have a few hundred thousand views, and some have bumped into the millions, but they have nothing on the next big “cute baby” video.

Compare that to the 19 million views T-Mobile has picked up with its (sweet and fairly respectful) spoof of the Royal processional. The real event, of course, had no sponsors. But T-Mobile saw the opportunity presented and snatched it up to great affect. It’s all part of its Life is for Sharing campaign which has seen several other great and popular viral ads, including the T-Mobile Dance, one of the earliest giant flash mob ads.
