Starbucks’ Labor of Love


Over the past year, Starbucks has been hard at work promoting its partnership with (RED)™, the charity against AIDS in Africa. This December, to celebrate a successful year of fundraising, Starbucks created a collaborative music video with people from around the world. The song they chose for the performance (which took place simultaneously at 1:30PM GMT on December 7th) is “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles.

Much like the highly successful “Song Around the World” initiative, the Love Project combines singers and musicians from around the world into one cohesive whole. With representatives from 156 countries, the video also feels a bit like “Where the Hell is Matt?” Still, while clearly a bit calculated, the video makes us a bit misty-eyed.

Starbucks is taking it one step further by asking viewers to contribute their own voice at StarbucksLoveProject.com. For each contributed video, Starbucks will donate 5 cents to (RED)™ (up to a maximum of 1,000,000 entries).
