Samsung does it again


Viral Marketing: Also known as Word of Mouth Advertising. Any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, thus creating the potential for exponential growth in the message’s exposure and influence. Just like viruses, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, even to millions.

Samsung’s new solid state drives may not sound like fascinating material to market, but the company’s viral ad for them is brilliant. It’s one of the best examples of a viral ad I’ve seen in a while, in fact.

It’s a bit long, and a bit tech-oriented, but it knows its niche:

The creators of the ad have taken a fairly pedestrian product and done something really cool with it. Something that the target audience would love to do. And they’ve presented it in a personal, fun, friendly manner. It worked, too. The ad was discovered just a few days ago and already has over 700k views. Samsung really seems to be on top of the viral advertising game these days with clever, creative ads.
