Microsoft and Shelter look to the future
Viral Marketing: Also known as Word of Mouth Advertising. Any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, thus creating the potential for exponential growth in the message’s exposure and influence. Just like viruses, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, even to millions.
Two very cool videos are making the viral rounds this week, and they have two very different visions of the future.
Microsoft is showing off the future of its technologies with the Future Vision series of videos. With what the company has already shown of its Surface technology, the ideas shown in this montage might not be too far off. Think of the possibilities for advertising and displays.
Shelter, a UK charity, looks at much darker possibilities for the future. Making great use of Radiohead’s House of Cards, the video brings attention to the growing housing crisis in the UK.
