Levi’s Takes a Trip Across America

This week’s viral video is an interesting case. According to ABC News coverage, the creators came up with an idea that they believed had legs – a walk across America, shot with thousands of still frames. But it would be a costly trip, and they lacked the funding. So they sought a sponsor, and Levi’s stepped up.

It’s well-suited to Levi’s marketing, generally focused on national pride and Americana. And the investment seems to be paying off. In a week, the video’s been discovered, picked up over a million views, and received coverage from several major news outlets. The 14 day trip was cataloged on Google Maps, and a second “making of” video covers the (surprisingly simple) technology behind the effort.

That's really cool! Good find! I can see why the making of video is also popular, because it really is neat to see how they put it all together!
