Sometimes, viral marketing is simply about knowing when you’ve found a good thing, and putting your name beside it. That’s what brought Stride Gum some 24 million views (so far) with Where the Hell is Matt?

Volkswagen saw a good thing in Danny MacAskill. MacAskill is a pro rider for Inspired Bicycles, and one of his fantastic street trials videos from earlier this year has picked up over 12 million views:

Volkswagen tapped him for a new ad that’s three parts homage to his skills, one part catchy music, and one part ad. Will it have the same lasting appeal? Time will tell, they’ve used the right recipe.
