Have you seen your sensible?

Viral Marketing: Also known as Word of Mouth Advertising. Any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, thus creating the potential for exponential growth in the message’s exposure and influence. Just like viruses, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, even to millions.

Cadbury Schweppes has come up with a fun viral campaign to promote its Spring Valley brand of juices. Save Your Sensible tells visitors the story of the history of the Sensible, a strange little critter that has kept people from folly throughout history, but that has been abandoned in modern life. Visitors are then given their own Sensible to care for from the Neglected Sensible Shelter.

To tie in the brand, players can feed their Sensibles Spring Valley juice to cheer them up. And the Facebook application that goes along with the campaign is getting quite popular, with several thousand monthly users. The campaign is clearly drawing a lot of interest. Users seem to love their Sensibles, and are clamoring for more ways to interact with the critters.
