Who You Gonna Call? Improv Everywhere?
Improv Everywhere, the New York-based improv group responsible for many of the great flash mob events and public culture jams of the past few years, are back with something new, and this time it’s for a great cause.
This time around, a group of ghosts took over the New York Public Library (which just can’t catch a break when it comes to hauntings), and someone made the right call – that’s right, to the Ghostbusters. The video is very cute, and it looks like a fun day was had by all involved, but there is a deeper message to convey: Don’t Close the Book on the New York Public Library. Viewers are directed to the library’s site, which explains that a planned $37 million cut to the library system’s budget will mean branch closures and service cuts. What a great way to draw attention to the library’s plight.
