Goldie Blox Gets Girls

Gendered toy marketing is usually considered a problem, but that might not always be the case. Take, for instance, Goldie Blox, a toy brand that is unabashedly marketing to girls. It’s earning near-universal praise from the same folks who have come down hard on things like the LEGO Friends line of LEGO-for-girls.

The difference? Goldie Blox is doing all it can to give young girls an early start in engineering. That it’s making that pitch with an entertaining ad backed by a fantastic kid-friendly take on the Beastie Boys’ Girls is just icing on the cake.

Goldie Blox also has this ad up for Intuit’s Small Business Big Game competition, which will see one of four final ads selected to be aired during the Super Bowl in 2014.
