Dumb Ways to Die on Mobile

This week’s viral ad has been kicking around since November, but unlike it’s happy little denizens it just won’t die.

Dumb Ways to Die was created by McCann Melbourne for Metro Trains, operator of the suburban railway network of Melbourne, Australia. It’s a public service announcement hidden in a ridiculous cute and gory video that’s just so very singable. There are many dumb ways to die, and messing about with trains may be one of the dumbest—or at least that’s the message being shared.

The video’s gone on to pick up more than 52 million views, parodies, tons of MP3 sales and more. What’s brought it back to life, however, is an app that captures all its adorable grotesqueness. Who knew saving and, uh, not saving dumb little dudes could be so fun?
