Dead Island Trailer Reaches Horror Fans Online


It’s not often that we feature video game marketing, because creative game marketing tends toward months-spanning alternate reality games and not something we can show off in the short space of time we have with you each week. But this week’s video hit the Internet hard and has pulled a lot of attention in the few days its been up – to the tune of nearly 3 million views so far.

You don’t need to be a gamer to appreciate this trailer for Dead Island (though you do need a stomach for violence and horror). It’s artistic and gruesome in equal measure, and it offers viewers a rare thing: a reason to be interested even if they’re not the traditional market. Make the viewing time worthwhile, and you might just pull in some new fans with your video marketing. At the very least, you’ll ensure your target demographic knows you respect their time and clicks.
