Chipotle Takes The Grammys Back to the Start

This week’s viral video has an odd history. It’s actually been around since last August, picking up millions of views over the months but never spiking into truly viral territory.

Then, last Sunday, it was aired during the Grammys. Suddenly it was the topic on everyone’s lips: this new Chipotle ad, two minutes long, was hailed by many as the best part of the show. While that’s probably meant as an offhanded slight against the award show, it’s also telling. People have been deeply engaged by this ad.

Now the views are spiking and the media coverage has arrived. And it’s well earned, in our opinion. Fantastic animation, a very impressive soundtrack (Willie Nelson covering Coldplay’s The Scientist) and a message that really resonates in these days of hormone and antibiotic fed livestock. Now if only we had a Chipotle nearby…
