Battle of the Email with Microsoft and Google
It seems like just yesterday that it was Microsoft and Apple at each other’s throats in ads. Lately, though, the gloves have come off in the battle between Microsoft and a newer contender: Google.
Late last month, a leaked video that was apparently created by the big M went viral. It slammed Google’s privacy policies in a fairly humorous way. For an unlisted video without any marketing power behind it, this one has approaches a respectable 800k views.
Google, meanwhile, took on Microsoft’s email services with a similarly tongue-in-cheek ad. This one calls for Gmail users to stage email interventions to get their friends off embarrassing, ancient email services. It’s also sitting around 800k views. Does anyone come out on top with this one? Or is this just a case of the pot calling the kettle black?
