Battle of the Brands
The big brands are ready for the World Cup, and so are millions of viewers. Adidas is, of course, a major sponsor, while Nike lost the bid. But they’ve both launched big budget videos to celebrate.
Adidas integrated the ad with their Originals campaign, with a whole host of celebrity stars. David Beckham, Snoop Dogg, Daft Punk and many, many more. It remade the Star Wars cantina scene to show off a great line of clothes.
The video has picked up nearly 3 million views, which sounds pretty good. Until you check out Nike’s video.
Nike’s video has nearly 15 million views. It’s also got a writeup on Slate entitled “The Greatest Ad I’ve Ever Seen.” And it’s a pretty great ad. It’s just three minutes, so take a short break and give it a watch.
