Angry Birds Are For Sharing
We’ve talked about Angry Birds events once or twice before. The smartphone game has reached inexplicable heights of success, and now you can find it just about everywhere. There might even be an Angry Birds movie in the works.
So when T-Mobile wanted to do something new with its Life is for Sharing campaign, it turned to that game – the one game that’s recognized by people around the world. And it went into it in a huge way. It built a magnificent life-sized set the play a public game of Angry Birds, ostensibly controlled by the smartphone game. And it shot a video of the game and the public reaction.
That’s one of the coolest things about the Life is for Sharing campaign. Sure, the ads are great, but the events are real. This isn’t a fantasy about a big brass band bursting into music in the street that turns into a great big parade. This is something real and cool, and you could have been one of the people in the audience.
Oh, and if you can’t get enough of that catchy theme music, here’s another viral success. Pomplamoose’s cover of the theme has over 2 million views itself.
