Virgin America Brings Flight Safety to Life

The trickiest thing about in-flight safety demonstrations is getting people to actually pay attention. With their awkward mix of super-familiar and super-important information, they’re just so easy to tune out. Virgin Atlantic, on the other hand, has just managed to gather over six million rapt viewers for its latest take on the safety video, none of which are actually part of its captive audience.

The video is a heady mix of upbeat music, dance and straightforward safety information. It might be a bit much for some airlines, but Virgin’s brand identity rests on luxurious fun. That’s what this ad manages to portray, and it does it with skill—with smart casting and great choreography.
