Yorktown Centre Holds Happening Health Fair
Here’s a good problem to have: the 3rd Annual Fitness February Fair, organized by Healthy Lombard, is just too popular. The people of Lombard, Illinois are so keen on good health that the fair outgrew its old home at the Lombard Village Hall and had to be relocated to the Yorktown Shopping Center.
It’s so popular it has also been expanded to four full hours, filled with booths that educate about healthy topics, free screenings and all sorts of interactive presentations.
One of the coolest things at the fair is the recognition of 2013’s Health Heroes. These are individuals who made a notable effort to improve their health situation during 2012. Healthy Lombard gets nominations for this achievement late in the year, and recognizes the winners on stage at the fair. What a nice way to make healthful living even more rewarding.
That weekend also features Yorktown Center’s Family Fun Fest, so the shopping center will be full of families out to have a good time with tons of exhibitors and activities. While they’re at it, they’ll have a chance to learn about important issues like childhood obesity—and what they can do about it.
