Woodbridge Center Parties for Prom Season

320promjamDresses, hairstyles, and makeup are the stuff that dreams are made of now that we’re in prom season. Eager prom-goers found all that and much more at New Jersey’s Woodbridge Center last weekend for Prom Jam 2014.

The center brought together 15 speciality retailers that offered just what prom shoppers might need, and turned the whole thing into a festive celebration of all things prom. The festivities kicked off at noon on Saturday. Performers included American Idol contestant and Jersey Girl Stephanie Marie Hanvey, rising pop sensation Starling Glow, and local dance crew To Be One. To Be One was the youngest group to appear on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, and they showed off their skills for an excited crowd at the center. All the performers also met with fans after the Prom Jam fashion show, which featured students from local high schools.

While shoppers enjoyed the entertainment, there was also big prizes to win, a Prom Jam photo booths and, of course, tons of prom retailers including fashion and accessories shops, hairstylists and makeup artists.

“We want to provide teens with the latest prom tips and trends in an entertaining and fun way” said David Albertson, senior marketing manager at Woodbridge Center. “Prom Jam combines all of the elements important to teens – fashion, retailer deals, music and fun with friends – and it’s all free and under one roof.”

The center also held a Facebook contest to coincide with the event. Fans who shared their favorite things about prom had a chance to win a $150 Shop Etc. gift card, VIP front row seating for the shows and a private meet-and-greet.
