Whiteley Centre Welcomes Independent Traders
Whiteley Shopping Centre joined the independent market trend this month with the help of popular local traders organization Love Southsea. Saturday marked the first-ever Love Whiteley event, hosted by the shopping center and filled with local Portsmouth and Whiteley artisans.
All day on Saturday, shoppers could enjoy sunny day filled with local treasures. Heart FM took its show on the road for the event, stilt walkers wowed the crowd, and shoppers had the chance to win tasty door prizes.
Whiteley Shopping Centre took the time to promote participating vendors on its social channels, and encouraged shoppers who couldn’t make it out for the big day to return for April’s big event.
Team Locals covered the Love Southsea expansion, speaking to organizer Louise Whitmore.
““We’re really excited to be working with Whiteley in these new markets, and we look forward to bringing all our traders with us as well as our loyal following of regular shoppers,” she told Team Locals. “We hope we can enhance the Whiteley shopping experience and give opportunities to traders in the centre’s area who still haven’t found a way to get their wares seen by the public.”
Whitmore is working with center retailers to give them opportunities to make the most of the event, too.
