Westgate Launches New Look
Westgate Center has been hard at work under a major remodeling project since last summer. The 52-year-old shopping center is just about ready for its new debut, though: this week marks its grand opening.
The update includes family-friendly amenities like a new 670 square-foot soft-play area for the little ones, updates restrooms and several luxuriously furnished common areas. The interior has been updated with new tile and a contemporary color palette, and the exterior has a new façade design, signs, lighting, landscaping and an enhanced central plaza with café tables and fountains.
The center is holding a big ribbon cutting event this week, with invited guests from members of the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, project contractors, Westgate Center merchants and supporters and others.
The grand opening coincides with another big ribbon-cutting ceremony: the center’s Nike Factory Store is opening. The retailer is offering free gifts, in-store specials and lots of fun.
The final piece of the celebration is this weekend: the Westgate Family Fun Festival & Open House. Youngsters will get to check out the new play area while enjoying crafts, cookie decorating, a scavenger hunt, face painting, balloons and musical performances.
