Westfield Wishes Shoppers a Lucky Christmas

Westfield Australia launched its new online shopping mall just in time for Christmas. The site aggregates products from retailers at Westfield shopping centers, and each retailer is free to set its own shipping and returns policy. It’s a solution that should work out well for everyone involved.

But launching so close to Christmas leaves Westfield a bit tight-pressed to build awareness in time for the vital holiday shopping season. So the company has put together a promotion that’s sure to build buzz, and it promotes both online sales and Westfield gift cards.

Each item on the Westfield online store has an “Add to Wishlist” link that connects with the Westfield Wishlist Facebook app. Shoppers that add items to their Wishlist earn a chance to win a $10,000 gift card. Referring friends earns shoppers up to five more entries. And finally, buying gift cards earns shoppers even more chances to win.
