Westfield London has Bieber Fever
Hear that sound? That’s Westfield London firing a shot across the bow of every other center’s Christmas plans. Last year pop sensation Rihanna switched on its Christmas lights. That was mad enough, but this year the center took it even further: it’s getting Justin Bieber.
The teen heartthrob will launch his new album, Under the Mistletoe and perform live at the center on the evening of November 7th. Then he’ll switch on its holiday lights, officially starting the Christmas shopping season. But while a good portion of the teenage girls in London might want to be there, Westfield London is doing its best to keep the event under control.
The center is giving away 5 pairs of VIP tickets through its Facebook page, but otherwise those that want to attend will need to line up. 1000 wristbands are being given out the morning of the show on a first-come, first-served basis, and those wristbands must be worn until the show. The center, anticipating the potential trouble, emphasizes that once the bands are gone, they’re gone. Still, I wouldn’t want to be the one to get between a legion of Bieber fans and their hero.
Only one question remains: did Santa see this coming?
