Vaughan Mills Courts Social Media Stars


How do you get bloggers on your side? Vaughan Mills recently took the direct approach with its New Media Challenge. The center invited 50 top local social media influencers to come check out the center on its dime.

The center brought each of the challengers in on its Shuttle. After a welcome reception, each was given a $100 Vaughan Mills Gift Card to spend however they chose. But they had to be careful (and quick) – they had an hour to pick the ultimate purchase.

If they managed to make it back from exploring Vaughan Mills shops within the deadline, their purchases were judged by Style Agents Afiya Francisco and Janette Ewen. They picked the most compelling find, based on Value, Presentation, Creativity and Passion. The winner was awarded a $500 Vaughan Mills Gift Card.

Many of these bloggers and social media mavens reported on the event, and the reactions were quite positive. The center also promoted each of their websites and Twitter accounts.
