Two Rivers Celebrates Summer Sports

808tennisWith Wimbledon done and gone for another year, tennis has lost a little of its spotlight. Shoppers at Two Rivers Shopping Centre were far from done with it, however: last weekend the center held a very popular comedy tennis act.

Last Saturday from 11-4, the centre was home to a high-stake game between highly-skilled, high-strung players—highly skilled comedians, at least.

Anyone for Tennis was filled with dramatic slow motion replays, live commentary and plenty of interactive fun for all of the shoppers involved.

“The ‘Anyone for Tennis’ event proved to be a highly successful day and was very entertaining,” said Adam Talbot, Centre Manager. “Wimbledon was certainly tense this year but I think the Two Rivers game took the match point. I am looking forward to the Sumo Wrestling event next week, which I am sure will be just as fun.”

The Sumo Wrestling event is the next stop in the center’s Summer Sport Festival. It will invite shoppers to don huge inflatable sumo outfits, put on ceremonial head protectors and challenge their friends and loved ones to head-to-head combat.

The festival has been running since mid-July, and has featured a local Sports Day, a visit from the local Dragon Boat racing team, fitness tests and a lot more.
