‘Twas the Night for CORE Shoppers

‘Twas the Night at CORE shopping center, and all through the mall… well, there were some very impressive deals happening. Sorry, that doesn’t quite rhyme.

This week, the center held it’s holiday shopping evening, and it sounds like a particularly special night. There is, of course, the usual one-night-only deals and offers, the real draw for overwhelmed holiday shoppers, but that’s not enough. The night must be magical.

To that end, the center has a lor more than shopping planned. Music and dance, for instance, with a one-of-a-kind performance that features excerpts of The Nutcracker. As the center’s 45-foot tree lights up the night for the first time this year, it will be accompanied by the music of the Calgary Boys Choir, a performance that lands next to their 40th anniversary.

This isn’t just an evening for those who want to immerse themselves in the magic of the holidays. The center has teamed up with ELLE Canada to make it extra-special for the fashionistas in attendance. The first 1000 guests to arrive will get free copies of ELLE’s December issue, and Editor-in-Chief Noreen Flanagan with meet with readers new and old.

Of course there’s a deserving cause behind all this merry-making—two, in fact: BeCause: a next generation initiative of the United Way of Calgary, and the National Music Centre project.
