Trafford Centre Goes for Sustainable Record

For this year’s World Environment Day, The Trafford Centre is teaming up with Recycle for Greater Manchester to get shoppers thinking green.

Over the weekend, the center will attempt to defeat the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of clothes recycled. It’s asked shoppers to get a head start on the spring cleaning and bring all their unwanted clothes in for donation. The center is collecting not only for the record attempt. It’s also donating the clothes to children’s charity Barnados. They’ll be resold to support local children in need.

Shoppers who stop by to drop off their donations will also get to check out some great environmental entertainment. Recycle for Greater Manchester will be displaying a living room made entirely from recycled furniture. It will teach shoppers how to Recycle Right with an educational DVD. It’s also going to show off its new Recycle App, and some fabulous recycled origami art.

Shoppers who pledge to keep recycling will have a chance to win £100 in gift cards.
