To Think They Saw it at Emerald Square

For 75 years, children have grown up with the imaginative tales of Theodor Suess Geisel running through their heads. From the simplicity of One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish to the complex environmental lessons of The Lorax (who speaks for the trees), Dr. Seuss has taught many of us more than we probably acknowledge.

But Emerald Square Mall certainly acknowledges that Dr. Seuss has valuable lessons to share, today as much as ever. Celebrating “75 Years of Imagination” with the anniversary of the publication of Seuss’s first children’s book, And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, the center dedicated one Kidgit event to an all-out Seuss-stravaganza.

With help from the VIP of the event, The Cat in the Hat, the center set up a Mulberry Street-themed backdrop for photos and fun. Kids watched “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That,” decorated thematic bookmarks, crowns and tiaras, and did a little light reading with a long, long reach.

And here’s to another 75 years of making reading a joy, Dr. Seuss.
