The Palms Is Mad for Motocross

327fmxAfter last year’s big success, The Palms opened its car park up for a second adrenalin-filled motocross event with the return of FMX. On Saturday, March 8, the park was converted into a full-featured motocross arena with plenty of room for spectators—after last year’s even drew upwards of 2000, the center was ready for a big day.

Organizer and motocross enthusiast Rob “TURBO” Turner was excited to take over the reigns of the Palms’ FMX event.

“Motocross is one of my passions,” he said before the event. “I love everything about it! We’ve got a great line-up of fantastic riders this year, and I can’t wait to see how The Palms shoppers respond to some of the tricks these guys can do. We’re always looking to push the boundaries of where we can host motocross events, and I think The Palms’ Arena car park is still one of my favorite venues!”

On the big day, there were three separate displays staged for three different audiences. The first was a gentle intro aimed at younger children and their families. In the evening, a slightly older audience watched the show. Finally, at 9:30 pm, true motocross enthusiasts enjoyed a display of some of the best, and most daring, tricks and skills to hit the ramp.

While the FMX event was free, a raffle was held with prizes up to a pit bike valued at $1200 available. Tickets were $10.
