The Octagon Lights Up Christmas for Families in Need
The Octagon Shopping Centre hopes to bring a little light to the holiday season with the help of local community organizations.
The center has brought in a donation of 50 4-foot tall Christmas trees. Now it’s seeking out schools, churches and children’s groups to decorate the trees. In mid-December, the trees will be delivered to the center, and the community groups will come together to decorate them in a cheery holiday get together.
After they’ve been displayed at The Octagon for a week, the trees will be distributed to charities that work with families in need of a happy holiday.
While the trees are on display, shoppers will have the chance to vote on their favorite tree. The one that gets the most votes will earn the organization that decorated it a £100 donation from the shopping centre to use however it wishes.
