The Octagon Hosts a Tea Dance
The Octagon Shopping Centre is going dancing, and all its shoppers are invited. This week, it’s hosting a traditional tea dance. On top of a lovely tea, complete with coffees, teas and small sandwiches from Asda, there will also be the chance to watch sublime ballroom and Latin dancing from the Midlands Latin and Ballroom champions, Jamie Cutler & Courtney Taylor.
“We are really looking forward to showcasing the dancing talent of Jamie and Courtney,” said Peter Hardingham, center manager at The Octagon. “Dancing has become a sensation within the UK with many different styles being taken up from ballroom to hip hop, particularly with the rise of TV programs such as the BBC’s ‘So you think you can dance?’ and ‘Strictly come dancing’.”
After their performance, Jamie and Courtney will keep the dancing theme going by offering tips and advice to shoppers who want to pick up a few new moves.
The center has also planned a raffle full of fantastic prizes from its retailers. It sounds like a lovely way to spend a spring afternoon, with dancing, great food and company.
