The Glades Retail Excellence Awards Shine On Great Customer Service

The Glades Retail Excellence Awards are serious business. The center, looking to promote great customer service amongst its retailers, put together a comprehensive awards program with 12 categories, public voting, independent experts and a panel of judges. And it’s paid off with a very successful annual awards evening.

“We wanted to emphasise to our retailers the important role of customer service in the overall retail experience at the Glades,” explained Howard Oldstein, the centre’s General Manager. “We’ve been running a similar campaign, called ‘Store Wars’, for the last couple of years but we changed the format this year in order to reward retailers in a wider range of categories and thereby motivate more stores to participate.” It seems to have worked out nicely.

Three categories were voted on by the public, and the others (including Greenest Store) were selected by the aforementioned experts and judges. While there was a good mix of winners from different retail categories throughout the center, one store really shone. accessories and garden products, Flutterbyes, an independent shop specializing in home accessories and garden products, won prizes for Favourite Shop, Best Customer Service and Best Store Manager for stores up to 230 sq. meters.

The awards program culminated in a champagne reception and sumptuous awards dinner at Sundridge Park Manor.
