The Fort Wins Green Award
The results are in, the votes are tallied, and the awards have been awarded: The Fort Shopping Park has won a Green Apple Award.
The center was up against 500 other nominations, but its entry ‘The Fort Wages War on Waste’ won the award for sustainable development. Marjan Horne, Centre Manager at The Fort, together with managing agent DTZ, have been hard at work to increase recycling and control waste at the center.
“We are delighted to win a Green Apple Award. We wanted to do away with the outdated methods of waste disposal that were being used to help save the environment and are amazed at the results achieved with just a few simple changes,” said Marjan Horne, clearly thrilled to collect the award.
The Green Apple Awards are organized by The Green Organisation, and they recognize those who work hard to create and sustain environmental Best Practices.
