Stratford City Celebrates the King of Pop
Westfield Stratford City has secured an almost-painfully good exclusive: it will be the only UK host of The Collection of Tompkins and Bush: Michael Jackson Wardrobe.
The name’s a bit dry, but the exhibit is anything but—it’s a collection of personal and concert pieces from the King of Pop’s wardrobe, straight from his long-time costume designers, Michael Bush and Dennis Tompkins.
For those still in mourning, this exhibition will be an incredible reminiscence of Jackson’s life, with signature pieces that, prior to this tour, haven’t been seen since last they were on stage or screen. Check out this list of highlights:
“One of the King of Pop’s infamous right-handed crystal covered gloves, the complete “Scream” video outfit, a suit from the 1987 Smooth Criminal video and the 30th Anniversary of Madison Square Gardens Show’s illuminated helmet sported by Jackson.”
As if that weren’t already outstanding, true fans are also sure to recognize costumes from famed appearances at award ceremonies, music videos and live performances.
Myf Ryan, General Manager of Marketing, said, “It is an honour to be the exclusive UK hosts for such a unique exhibition. In our first year, Westfield Stratford City attracted 47 million shoppers and we are increasingly becoming the destination of choice for exclusive events. We look forward to welcoming visitors and fans to get up close and personal with music and fashion history.”
