STC Honors Local Legends
Scarborough Town Centre is preparing to host a very important local event: the induction ceremony for 2013’s additions to the Scarborough Walk of Fame.
The Scarborough Walk of Fame honors the folks who were born or have spent their formative years in Scarborough and have made significant accomplishments in arts and culture, science, education, and more.
The inductees will get a permanent star in the Scarborough Walk of Fame court at the center.
This year’s inductees include some big names:
- Barenaked Ladies (Entertainment)
- Christine Bentley (Community) – Journalist, Former CTV News Anchor
- Dwayne Morgan (Arts and Culture) – Poet, Speaker and Social Entrepreneur
- Gerry Phillips (Community) – Former MPP for Scarborough-Agincourt
- Judie Oliver (Sports) – Masters Swimmer
- Monika Schnarre (Arts and Culture) – Model, Television Host, Actor, Writer and Entrepreneur
- Scarborough Historical Society (Community) – Lionel Purcell, Businessman and Historian; Richard
- Schofield, Educator, Historian/Archivist and Author
