Westfield Trumball is hard at work, making sure the changing seasons will put a smile on local faces.
To celebrate the Columbus Day weekend, the shopping center is throwing its Fall Food & Wine Tasting. The celebration will feature live performances by Vonda Shepard and swing band Eight to the Bar, food samplings from top local restraunts, and wine tastings.
It’s part of larger state campaign to encourage “staycations” in Connecticut, USA. Staycation, in case you haven’t heard, is a fairly new term for a very old idea – staying home and taking time off. With flight, fuel, and economy worries running rampant, it’s a good time to encourage people to become tourists in their home towns. With travel out of the question for many, it’s still worthwhile to take some time off to relax and de-stress, and local tourism is great for the economy.
