St. David’s Locks In Young Shoppers
Young shoppers are an important demographic. Occasionally, a mall has serious difficulties with young people, and curfews ensue. See Mayfair Mall’s recent difficulties for example.
But if your young shoppers are more of a dream than a nightmare, you can follow St. David’s example. Instead of locking them out, hold a lock in. The center is holding its second Student Lock In in a few weeks, and it’s sure to be a good time for shoppers. “Lock in” is a slight exaggeration – the event takes place from 8:30pm to 11:30pm, not overnight, but it is an exclusive, student-only event. It’s riding on the heels of the success of the center’s last students’ night, which took place just a few months ago in October.
Shoppers who show their student ID are allowed in for an evening of shopping and entertainment. Student discounts are doubled throughout the center for the evening, and promotional partners are sponsoring giveaways for the night. A DJ will provide live entertainment, and there are goody bags for shoppers to take home. The evening is one step for the center building a great relationship with student shoppers.
