SoftMoc Helps Haitians

Canadian shoe retailer SoftMoc set out to help survivors of the Haitian earthquake as best they could by inviting customers and other individuals to donate pairs of shoes to send to those in need.

The company accepted shoe donations in their stores for one week following the disaster, and the appeal had a near-viral spread across Canadian retail-community websites. The end result? Over 100,000 pairs of shoes collected. SoftMoc teamed up with established shoe-donation charity Soles4Souls to ensure timely delivery of the donated shoes to Haiti. Hopefully the shoes will find their way to good homes very soon.

This is but one of many great retail and mall-based campaigns to help survivors in Haiti. To read about more, check out the upcoming issue of Marketing Trendz.
