Shopping Westfield Online?
Here’s an interesting tidbit that came from the Sydney Morning Herald last week: Westfield is venturing online with an e-commerce take on its shopping malls.
There’s not much information available about this plan yet. According to the newspaper, Westfield no longer fears that an online mall will take business away from its physical locations. Rather, it hopes to recapture shoppers that may otherwise be lost to other online sources if malls fall behind on modern alternatives.
As soon as we find out more about the details of this plan, we’ll bring them to you. In the meantime, take a look at the article for the information the newspaper has gathered so far. Here’s a snippet:
“It is understood the online mall will be led by fashion, which the company sees as its strongest attraction, and split into categories including electronics and books.
The website westfield.com.au will be revamped to allow customers to make payments. It already allows users to shortlist items of interest but, to buy goods, shoppers still must go to a mall.”
