A Shopping Festival for the City With the Golden Touch
We’ve been hearing all about fashion festivals in Dubai and the UAE, but there are so many other amazing shopping destinations just waiting to be discovered by tourists, travelers and even locals. So we’re delighted to hear of the inaugural Joburg Shopping Festival, starting next week and running throughout September.
The shopping centers of Johannesburg, ZA has been facing a massive crime wave, so now may seem like a difficult time to start a shopping festival, but preventing the spread of fear makes it more important than ever. Festival organizers have taken steps to ensure the shopping festival is a safe and successful one. One of the sponsors has created branded smart cards to let shoppers pay securely without carrying cash. Another is coordinating offers to allow shoppers to ship their purchases directly to their homes. And buses will ferry shoppers between the shopping centers and their hotels.
And of course, as with any shopping festival, the centers involved will be heavy with great discounts, entertainment, events and promotions.
