Share the Love at thecenter:mk and Festival Place
Tired of chocolates for Valentine’s Day? Festival Place offered shoppers a little something different this year. Last weekend, visitors to the UK shopping center could purchase rare Hoya plants (known as sweetheart plants) for £3.99, with part of the proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. Shoppers who purchased a plant were also asked to leave a love note and get a photo taken to be published on the Festival Place website. Hopeful lovers can check online to see if their loved ones left them a Valentine’s message.
thecenter:mk is also trading in messages of love this week. The shopping center teamed up with local radio station Heart to put together the Love Shack. The little red hut has a comfy double bed (lined with red satin sheets) and a video camera. But don’t worry — enthusiastic video subjects are well supervised by the Heart Angels, who show visitors how to send their message of love. The videos will be posted on Heart’s website on Sunday, and apparently already include at least one marriage proposal. Awww!
