Sears Asks Dads To Trust In Their Hands


Just in time for Father’s Day, Sears is putting out a big push for its line of Craftsman tools. The company has launched a slew of striking billboards (pictured above) featuring Craftsman’s “Trust In Your Hands.”

The phrase brings to mind two great ideas – one of the value of the work of ones own hands, and one of the value in the craftsmanship of Craftsman tools. But Sears wants to find out how its shoppers see the phrase, by asking them to interpret it for themselves. Ten Craftsman C3 tool sets are on the line, because ten lucky winners who show Sears what “trust in your hands” means to them will get to take one home.

The contest is simple. Fans of the brand can take a photo of themselves with a Craftsman tool, either working on a project, or just hanging around somewhere interesting. If they post the photo to twitter in a public message to Craftsman’s account with the phrase “Look how I put #trust in my hands,” they’re automatically entered to win.

The contest is running until July 2nd, so it’ll be a little late for folks to win for their own dads, but it’s a chance for Dad to show off the tools he was given on Father’s Day in the hopes of an even bigger haul.
