Scottsdale Fashion Square Pays Tribute to the Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is hitting the road. If you’re not familiar with the property, prepare to be: it may be the next Twilight.
Sound like an exaggeration? The final book in the trilogy, Mockingjay, sold 450,000 copies in its first week. Not quite up to Breaking Dawn levels, but with the first movie about to be released, the series’ popularity is just getting started.
It’s not quite the pleasant romance that Twilight was (vampires and all) – it’s about a dystopian future where a vicious regime forces teenagers to fight each other to the death. There is, thankfully, a love triangle to work with between Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence of Winter’s Bone), the young heroine of the series, and her two friends Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Gale (Liam Hemsworth).
The cast and director of the film will be heading out on a National Mall Tour to meet fans. The tour will stop at eight shopping centers across America, including Scottsdale Fashion Square, and will mostly involve Q&As and photo opportunities. Even without the cast, though, there is sure to be no end of opportunities for promotional events. You’ve got one month until the premiere, plenty of time, right?
