Schools Battle it Out at Festival Mall
It’s Back to School in South Africa, and Festival Mall has just the thing to keep back-to-school shoppers coming through its doors.
Festival Mall’s Battle of the Schools follows a traditional formula: for each R50 shoppers spend, they get one entry. One winning entry will be chosen, and the school nominated on that entry wins a prize. But this time it’s not just the school that wins.
Each entry has a chance of winning three prizes for three winners. The winning school gets a nice prize that should help offset its budget: four new laptops and four color printers. Shoppers can also nominate a teacher that has helped and inspired themselves or their kids. The teacher on the winning entry gets R5000 to reward them for their good work.
And finally, each entry lists a learner – young shoppers or shopper’s children. The winning learner will have a leg up when it comes to popularity this school year, because they win a fun field trip to the mall for the whole class. The winning learner and his or her class will get lunch and a movie at the mall, along with popcorn and drinks.
