Runners Race to Santana Row
Imagine this: a whole mob of people so excited to be at your center that they’re racing for the entrance. On an ordinary day, that may be sort of terrifying. But last weekend, it was just the thing for Santana Row.
You see, the center was participating in a big run: the Pat Tillman Foundation’s 408K, an 8K run supporting the foundation. Better known as the Race to the Row. Pretty good, right?
The run itself was pretty much what you’d expect: 8 kilometers of running or walking around San Jose. The rewards for good fundraisers were great, a signed 2012 All-Star Logan Couture jersey for the top fundraiser, a signed game-used Niemi goalie stick for the runner up, and an autographed photo pack of big stars for the third place fundraisers. Anyone who raised exactly $408 got a gold-plated 408k belt buckle.
But the real fun comes right at the end, because after the finish line was a whole host of savings for race participants. Mostly themed around the 408, they included things like $40.80 off at the Blues Jean Bar and drink specials for $4.08. Plus, many of the participating retailers donated proceeds right back to the Pat Tillman foundation.
