Go for a run
Sometimes we get so caught up in doing things for the greater good that we forget to take some time for ourselves.
Botany Town Centre hasn’t forgotten that its customers need some “me” time, though. The New Zealand shopping center is holding its inagural Summer Fun Run & Walk (just in time to take advantage of all those big New Year’s resolutions). Participants pay a small fee to sign up for a 5k walk or run, or a 10k walk or run, with prizes for participating and for placing.
Fun runs are an old idea, but this one is a bit novel in its simplicity. There’s no big charity drive, no special guests or entertainment, just a well-timed call to get out and run. It’s a refreshing change after the Christmas fuss, and I hope it works out well for Botany Town Centre.
