Queensbay Mall Has a Fright-tastic Month
Some holidays have a hard time living up to their hype. No matter how successful a Christmas morning, for instance, it may not stack up to months of frantic shopping, planning, decorating and baking. And for the grown-ups, the buzz around Halloween rarely seems to pan out.
Malaysia’s Queensbay Mall is doing its part to fix that by making the trick-or-treating last most of the month. Hard to make the payoff more substantial than that, right? It started weeks ago, when shoppers picked up special Trick or Treat tickets once they spent more than RM100 in a day. The treats? Fancy drinks, dinner, or teas for the good boys and girls. For the really lucky, though, there was a special trick: a mystical Egyptian makeover and photo shoot. A nice ancient Eqyptian costume, a little magic, and a portrait to remember.
That little taste of dress-up served as a great lead in for what’s coming up next: the center’s Terror-fic Halloween Costume competition. All day Saturday, kids and adults will show off their spookiest selves on stage for the judges.
The spooky fun will follow them home, too, popping up on their doorsteps. Assuming, of coures, that they participated in last weekend’s creative pumpkin carving competition. All manner of ghoulish faces were found.
If shoppers haven’t managed to work out their Halloween hype over three weeks of events, well, it’s a good thing we’re starting Christmas real soon.
