Queen’s Quay Terminal Plans for a Chilly Family Day

How does a day out on the waterfront sound? Maybe a day out with your family, taking in all kinds of fun, family-friendly activities? Sounds pretty good—now how about we move it to the middle of February in the Northern Hemisphere? A little wintery, perhaps, but that’s when the powers-that-be gave us Family Day in Ontario. Family Day on Toronto’s Waterfront is a good shot at making the best of it.

Kids are sure to have a fantastic day, chilly or not. The Woofjocks Canine Performance Team will be holding demos of all the most popular canine sports—and there are probably more than you know. This is a high-energy dog/handler performance team that specializes in interactive games and impressive demonstrations. After each show they bring the kids in the audience out to meet the pups and have their photos taken.

Out on the waterfront there will also be a collection of colorful clowns out to do a little magic, make balloon animals and more.

Then it’s into the warm hallways of Queen’s Quay Terminal for free crafts and family movies all afternoon. To mark family day, the little ones can work on family portrait buttons and family tree collages. The center will also be offering face painting, a key component of any successful family day.

Particularly chilly visitors are in luck—coffee shops both in and out of the center are offering free coffee and hot chocolate to the folks with the foresight to bring their own mugs.
