Queen Street Mall Launches The City Sounds
Brisbane is a city with a lot of fantastic music to offer the world—the only trick is ensuring that people know it. The City Sounds makes sure that Brisbanites, at least, are well aware, bringing free live music to 9 major CBD locations for 155 days of the year.
This year’s City Sounds has just kicked off at one of the premiere locations, Queen Street Mall. All day Friday shoppers and visitors could enjoy the sounds of Last Dinosaurs, Emma Louise, Texas Tea, Bullhorn, Daddy Loops and a lot more—19 acts in total. Shoppers enjoying the surrounding retail and shopping centers certainly got an earful.
The musical selections are a great mix of established acts and new music, and The City Sounds even makes an effort at discovering brand new music, offering a $5000 studio prize package to one lucky musician or band.
